Welcome to the website of our school

Nový Jičín Elementary School, Komenského 66, a contributory organization, is located in the center of Nový Jičín. We are a complete school with nine consecutive years. The school includes a school cafeteria and a school group.

The aim of the school is to create a positive attitude towards education and motivation for further lifelong learning. The long-term concept of the school is focused on independent thinking, selection and sorting of information and the ability to use the acquired knowledge in solving problems. The activities of the school are aimed at supporting the activity and creativity of pupils, at creating space for their self-realization and the development of natural talent. It gives students the opportunity to experience success. The school strives to create a partnership between students and teachers that allows students to work without undue fear. We strive to be an open and safe school that will allow each student to reach his or her maximum.

In addition to standard classes, our school also offers groups with extended foreign language teaching and classes with extended physical education teaching (focused on volleyball):

  • we teach English to pupils from the first year (optional), from the second year (compulsory)
  • we teach German or Russian to pupils of language groups from the 6th grade
  • we teach German or Russian to pupils in standard and sports classes from the 7th grade
  • pupils regularly go abroad as part of the Erasmus +  programme
  • sports classes are focused on volleyball and achieve sports success not only at the regional but also at the national level

At school we also offer:

  • clubs (language, research, health sciences, recorder playing, aerobics, soccer)
  • as a partner school of the British Council, we prepare pupils for international English language exams free of charge (levels A1 - B1)
  • tutoring for pupils at risk of school failure and preparation for entrance exams
  • care of a special pedagogue and teaching assistants, we are a barrier-free school
  • participation of pupils in knowledge and sports competitions

Our school also offers the possibility of using a school group:

  • the possibility of using the morning and also the afternoon school group for 1st-grade pupils
  • clubs at the school group
  • various events for both children and parents

 School equipment:

  • modern classrooms with interactive whiteboards and data projectors
  • computer science classrooms (3D printer, virtual reality)
  • spacious school cafeteria
  • reconstructed gyms and facilities for teaching practical activities (practice kitchen, workshops, school garden, ceramic workshop)
  • new atrium is used for relaxation (outdoor classroom, fitness set, game elements, rest zone, podium)
